Occupational therapists (OT's), occupational therapy assistants (OTA's), therapy aids and our allies from other professions seeking to promote and grow OT's role in the mental health services community
What is OT?
Occupational therapy is healing through doing.
Mental health occupational therapy helps people struggling primarily with psychosocial challenges. We foster growth, health, and well-being by understanding the needs and concerns of the people we serve. We see that what we call "mental health" is not its own separate domain, but interconnected with physical, emotional and spiritual health. By identifying people's hidden strengths, we help them overcome their challenges to participating in the life activities that they find meaningful and purposeful. Thus, we help people heal through doing.
